The Teltron Cafe...it's pretty small, but it's very up close and personal, I like it. As always the band was dressed in their usual white button-up dress shirts, black pants, and ties, with the exception of Blackburn who was sporting overalls with no shirt and a baseball hat. AOF rocked! As always Chris had more energy that any other person on the planet, he was standing on tables and dancing around all night. The MAD ASS HORNS were right on it, jumpin', jivin', and wailin'! Owen was once again pimpin' it like a madman on keys. The Burn and Rini were dropping some sweet beats. And On again gave AOF some nice depth and added to the energy of the night. During one song Chris and On got into a pillow fight which turned into an all out wrestling match when Dan joind in! At one point Burn and Owen jammed solo while Chris and the rest of the band just looked on. In a truly great finale Owen sang "Utah" solo with Chris on guitar, insipring a lighter blazing, candle lit, sway session. The true highlight of the night was when Chris jumped from a six foot high partition wall. And later on, not to be out done, Dan and Aaron stood on the same wall wailing away and then proceeded to jump down as well. All I have to say about those three jumps...SWEET!
After the show I got a chance to talk to each of the guys. They were all pretty pleased with the show as they should be...they rocked! And they were all looking forward to the show at Whisky A Go-Go on the 15th, and yes I do have my tix for that show! (Thank you Dan!) After a good 30 to 45 minutes of talking to the guys, mostly the Burn, Dan and Aaron, there was a round of hugs from all the guys. I again told them how awesome they were and they again thanked me and Mom for being there. Then Mom and I headed off on the long 80 mile drive home. All in all it was a great show, and an awesome evening.
