A hot band straight outta Ventura, CA. I first saw this band the night they opened for the CHERRY POPPIN' DADDIES at Santa Barbara's CoachHouse. This is one energetic band! They have an AWESOME stage presence! Frontman (and guitarist) Chris Jay has a massive amount of energy in his vocals and in his playing. Owen Bucey on keyboards is totally fab! He's such a doll! Bassist On� Nielsen gives AOF some nice depth. Percussionist Mike Rini and drummer Jon Blackburn keep the beat thumpin' and these boys are damn good at it too. And last, but in no way the least, my favorite~the MAD ASS HORNS! The Mad Ass Horns consist of Dan Clark on trombone and Aaron Golberg on trumpet. These two are the most fun to watch. I've never seen two guys have more fun playing AND goofing around. They're good at what they do (playing horns that is!) and they have fun doing it. I really love watching them!
AOF's music is blend of country, rap, blues, funk, ska, pop, and punk songs. As well as rag time numbers, serious acoustic numbers and fifties doo-wop ballads. They have a truly wide based musical style which can be enjoyed by all. (After all, my mom likes 'em!) Their debut CD is for sale through their webpage, and they have an another CD, RIBCAGE RADIO, which was released Dec. 12th, 1998...if I was you I'd get ahold of both! And whenever possible GO SEE THEM! ~hehe~ All together AOF is one KICK ASS band! Their music is totally awesome and their stage presence really adds to their sound. May they find great success!
